National Conference Calls

Pre-K Now hosts national conference calls and webinars to discuss the different issues facing state leaders in their efforts to secure pre-k legislation and develop sound, high-quality programs. For each call, Pre-K Now invites national experts to serve as facilitators and speakers on the selected topic and encourages pre-k supporters to listen and participate.

While reauthorizing Head Start in 2007, Congress added a new provision requiring every state to create or designate a State Advisory Council to better coordinate early education and care services. Pre-K Bills in Congress
A number of proposals supporting state-funded high-quality, voluntary pre-kindergarten have been introduced in the 111th Congress. Pre-K Now has analyzed four of the most promising bills: "The Prepare All Kids Act"; the "The Ready to Learn Act"; "The Providing Resources Early for Kids Act"; and "The Universal Pre-Kindergarten Act."
The movement to establish high-quality pre-k for every child who needs it will be America's statement about its children in the 21st Century.
