Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) and Sen. Kit Bond (R-MO), lead sponsors of the Ready to Learn Act, joined Pre-K Now in hosting a briefing for congressional staff, "America's Pre-K Movement: State Progress on Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten and How Congress Can Help." The goal was to highlight the importance of partnerships between the federal government and states in order to make quality, voluntary pre-kindergarten available to more children. Speakers with federal, state, and local vantage points discussed our nation's investments in pre-k education and how members of Congress can help ensure that, through high-quality pre-k, our children are prepared to meet tomorrow's challenges.
